In ovarian stimulation medication is given to the patient to stimulate multiple follicular development in the ovaries.
With this process we aim at the production of a large number of oocytes, since some of them may not be fertilized or may not develop following their fertilization.
During ovarian stimulation, the ovaries are examined with regular transvaginal ultrasounds while, at the same time, hormone levels are monitored with blood tests.
The process is usually completed within 10-12 days and, subsequently, the patient can move on to the procedure of egg retrieval.
